not from life!

I seem to only post life paintings. Here's a speedy sci-fi/furturistic concept study thing-a-ma-jig I don't plan on finishing. I have a few paintings from the term that I may share later. I haven't shared any concept work because they are never at a level of finish I am proud to show. This will do for now as I will be out of town for a while. =) have a good day!

Caltech

why do I always unknowingly divide my paintings in the middle? In my defense, the building was more to the left, but I realized that it was an inaccurate drawing, so I fixed it. besides if you squint your eyes you can't even tell there's a line splitting the image. my excuse. so, please squint your eyes when viewing my blog. it makes everything better. Or view from a distance of 5ft, at least. Also, the color on my monitor is way different from yours. And one more thing, my battery dies really fast, so you can't judge me based on a half finished painting.

I did a quick painting from the inside of a dim sum restaurant while I charged my batter. Then I braved the heat again to do another quickie. I think I got a little burned that day.

Smells like Coffee

Summer's here! I took Jackson's advice and got a frappuccino. What a nice day to sit inside a freezing cold starbucks with a faux fur lined jacket. My hair smells like coffee. It's like korean bbq, but not.

I wanted to do some color but kept it limited. It actually reflects how I feel in these dull summer days. Kinda dead. I like the colors, but not so much the compositions. I need to work on that.

So Many colors

Hello, friday workshops. oh, how I've missed you! This one proved to be a challenge. First my battery died about an hour into this painting and I didn't have my charger. There were so many colors on that dress that I wasn't sure how to aproach it. It actually helped that I had to leave the workshop early and work on this without the model. I wanted to keep the vivid colors I saw without being too overwhelmed by it.

...in case you're wondering, I was sipping a honey cinnamon latte at borders while doing this.

I had seared salmon salad after the workshop. Say that five times fast!

I spent more time on the head and arm. I always say I should keep working on it after the workshop, but I rarely do. Are the colors okay?
